ca. 1880–85. Lithograph, printed in black with hand-coloring with watercolor and selectively applied glaze. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
There’s an ideal that the body-mind wants to grasp and make real, but the Heart knows it won’t fill the Void.
The only thing that can bring true peace is to rest in the arms of the Beloved.
Can She hold me tight enough for me not to forget I am already Whole?
She loves so unconditionally that She lets go…
She waits patiently for the pleasures of the sensual world to lose their lustre.
Because She knows it’s all just a fleeting dream. Magic She creates. The great theatre of grasping, getting, and letting go.
Learning again and again how to take the next step; when all roads in the end lead to Her.
That Love will not be found anywhere else but in the eternity of Being One.
Jai Kālī Mā!
